Research Problem or Policy Gap
The participation of Indonesian women in development can be categorized as still low compared to men. Based on data obtained from the Global Gender Gap Report 2021[1], the gender inequality score in Indonesia reaches 0.688 points. This fact can explain that Indonesian women are still lagging behind in various aspects of development. In fact, women are the party with the most needs, problems and solutions to the problems they face. Therefore, the involvement of women in formulating and making decisions is very important, especially regarding the issue of climate change which is now often in the world's spotlight.
1. Research Problem
Climate change has had a broad and significant impact on the dimensions of human life, without exception for women in the world, especially Indonesian women. There is still very little attention from the government and the world regarding the issue of climate change which can affect the existence of women in gender equality. In this regard, although climate change has become a major issue in Indonesia's human development, in-depth discussions on how to overcome various problems and their solutions have not been facilitated properly and with social justice. In addition, there is also less integration or collaboration, meaning that there is a lack of integration between the parties concerned with one another in overcoming this pattern of problems. So, it can be said that their integration has not developed well as a responsible entity.
2. Policy Gap
There is no climate change policy that has been formulated/formulated that can have a positive impact on women (gender equality). In fact, if we look back at the data and see that Indonesia's gender equality index ranks 76th out of 144 countries in 2020. Meanwhile, in the same period, at the regional level, Indonesia is in position 15th out of 26 countries in Asia and the Pacific.[2] In fact, it is very important when this nation is more advanced and socially just, the concept of human development that pays attention to and involves the gender equality index as an indicator in the success of Indonesia's human development. In this regard, the main principle of human development according to (UNDP, 2015)[3] is to ensure that humans, both men and women, have many choices in their lives, are aware of their potential, and are free to live life with dignity and worth. Women and men are equally important to be taken into account so that they can play a role, be involved and contribute to achieving full human development.
